When i drop somthing on it it says warm air surrounds the body, what is this doing

It is there for later on in the game when you get the dragon eye. You drop it on the pedestal and it gives you an ogre gauntlet.

I'm pretty sure you get it after beating the boss on the last level of the sutmok monument.
